We first saw the Trtl travel pillow* in a Facebook add about a year ago. We're always on the lookout for something that provides a more comfortable flight experience. I've tried a couple of other pillows in the past, including the "U" shaped pillows* that go behind the neck, but they were either not thick enough, or pressed against the back of my neck too much. So, we decided to give the Trtl a try. I have to say overall, we were pleasantly surprised.
What I like: there is no pressure on the back of my neck, you can sleep with your head in a slightly tilted position versus slumped over, and given it wraps and fastens around the neck, there's less worry about it sliding down your neck.
What I don't like: It is a little warm, but if you're frequenly chilled while riding on an airplane, it is like having a light scarf around your neck. It also takes a little bit of adjusting to get it tight enough, but not too tight to feel like you're choking.
All in all, while you could buy 2 or 3 "U" shaped pillows for the same price, it seems to be holding up quite nicely after many flights. It is also easily stowable/compressible and the comfort versus other pillows is definitely worth the price. I recommend considering it if you take long flights or car rides and are looking for a portable pillow solution to make those naps during long trips more comfortable.
